IOC, Summer and Winter Olympics GAISF Meeting 2008

Muaythai under IFMA was one again invited to attend the Sport Accord 2008 in Athens. This is the world sport meeting for all world sports recognized by the IOC and GAISF. The Sport Accord gives sport federations, sporting personalities and sporting industries who are actively involved in the Olympic movement the opportunity to exchange views and ideas in the development of sports world wide.

The meeting was opened by the President of the IOC Mr. Jaques Roggue. Mr Hein Verbruggen the President of GAISF, the mayor of Athens and the Minister of Culture and many others were also on hand to welcome the delegates. The opening ceremony was very colorful and informative and was organized by the Athens Ministry of Culture.

The 4 day convention was filled with conferences and guest speakers. Also was the IOC announcement of the short list for the 2016 Olympic Games bidding host cities. The GAISF General Assembly and GAISF Martial Arts Meeting were also on the agenda.
