July 5th will bring excitement and thrills to Muaythai fans in Malaysia with the Malaysian WMC/Contender Asia International Super 4 qualifier. The tournament is on the line up of the event titled the International Muaythai Superfights and will take place at the Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam in Kuala Lumpur. Fighters from all around the world will be taking part from countries like Brazil, Singapore, Russia, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, Thailand and certainly the host country Malaysia. The WMC Contender super 4 qualifier will see Malaysia’s 4 chosen ones compete in a knock out system tournament until only one is left standing earning a spot in the Contender Qualifier Grand Prix. The evening’s fight card will also feature the return of some of the Contender season 1 veterans including Dzhabar Askerov, Zach and Zidov showing the new blood what it’s all about. Another highlight will be courtesy of the females of the species, as South African beauty Olivia Jackson faces off with Australia’s seasoned Tiana “Tiger” Caverley in the WMC Female International Title fight.
This is the first event in Malaysia, which will be televised live and also broadcast on Fox Sport and TGN in 170 countries and will undoubtedly be a great promotion for Muaythai. Malaysia will also host this year’s World Sport for All Congress partly organized by GAISF of which Muaythai is a member. So 2008 is the year to push the sport in Malaysia and foster its ever growing development. Check out the promo trailer or visit www.muaythaisuperfights.com for more information.
