History Has Been Made

The 2008 World Sport for All Games were a Games at which marked many milestones for he sport of muaythai. Not only as it the first time that muaythai was included in IOC patronized games.

After months of negoiations between IFMA, the Iranian Martial Art Federation and the Department of Pyscial education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the govement agreed to let the first official female team travel outside of Iran to participate in these games. Iran, one of Asia’s powerhouses in muaythai have made an important step towards hosting the Asian championships.

The Iranian female team  made a huge impact at the games  winning not only medals but most importantly the hearts of all participating countries and audience members. Congratulations from the muaythai world to the Islamic Republic of Iran and we are looking forward to welcoming the Iranian female team at many more championships.
