Apidet, Muaythai marvel, passes away
One of Muaythai’s greatest fighters, Apidet Sithiran, aged 72, passed away on April 4th after a long battle with lung cancer.
In his heyday, Apidet (Narong Songmanee) was known as the “Kicker of Bang Nokkawek,” thanks to his incredible kicking skill. It soon became difficult for him to find opponents, as he proved so devastating in the Muaythai ring. As a result, Apidet made the change to international boxing, where he proved himself as the champion of the welterweight division at Lumphini and Rajadmnoen stadiums.
Apidet then became a highly sought after trainer, working out of the Fairtex Boxing Camp.
The Muaythai world would like to remember and honour this legendary man.
