Dubai Fight Night a Massive Success!
Friday the 8th of March will go down in the Dubai history books as ‘Fight Night’ was a massive success. The event which was sanctioned by the WMC featured the best athletes from around the globe in a pristine venue with a sell out crowd.
Headlining the card was Saenchai who put on an epic performance much to the pleasure of the crowd taking the win over Valerii Abramenko from Ukraine. The co-main event saw the UK’s Jack Kennedy go head to head with Thailand’s Tawanchai. It was Tawanchai that went home victorious but what a valiant performance from young Kennedy.
Also on the bill was a 4 man tournament hosted by EFN. The first round saw Dogukan Siler from Turkey face Keng Superpro Samui from Thailand for a place in the final with Thailand going through to the next stage. The second leg saw Belarusian athlete Oleg Likhtarovich take on Otmane Ben Messadud from Morocco with the man from Belarus leaving the ring the victor.
The final between Belarus and Thailand was definitely a fight to remember with both athletes coming out strong. In the end it was the man from Thailand Keng that got the win, securing himself a place in the Super 4 tournament at the prestigious WMC King’s Cup Tournament in Thailand in July.
The WMC would like congratulate the United Arab Emirates Muaythai federation on a highly successful event and thank them for their sustained efforts in developing muaythai in UAE and the Arab region. We are looking forward to the next one!
