Giving Back Is Part of Muaythai
Social responsibility is important for muaythai and the WMC and IFMA are involved in an important charity programme. Muaythai Against Drugs, Sport is Your Gang and co-operation with UN Women. This Saturday there is a charity event which is supported and sponsored by World Muaythai Council and IFMA. The event would consist of Muaythai Cultural show, Muaythai Live and Muaythai Superfights, Male and Female.
Elite Boxing has joined forces with a local charity SATI to Launch the Muay Ying campaign aimed at empowering women and protecting vulnerable girls. To kick-start the Muay Ying campaign, Elite Boxing is donating 25% of ticket revenues from the EFN Champions League event at Asiatique on September 26 to support female charities under the supervision and guidance of SATI.
Beneficiaries of these donations include vulnerable girls living on the streets and in the neglected areas of Bangkok. Elite Boxing’s head female trainer Tannapat Sirimat will provide free muaythai and self-defense training for the girls in order to give them the mental and physical toughness required to resist being ensnared by human traffickers and lured into the sex trade.
In addition, all females who purchase a ticket for the EFN Champions League will also receive an invitation to a workshop on muaythai philosophy and culture. The workshop demonstrates how training in this traditional Thai martial art can empower women to be more confident and independent by improving their mental as well as their physical strength. All female ticket purchasers will also receive one free self-defense training session at Elite Boxing’s Elite Fight Club Gym in Bangkok
