IFMA & WMC World Champions Dominate Thai Fight Again!

The Thai Fight semi-final was another breath taking event, which shows that hard work is important for the overall development of Muaythai.  Not many people know that Buakaw was also once a former IFMA World Champion.

Additionally, superstars such as Yodsanklai, Kem and many more, have represented Thailand in IFMA World Championships in the past.  This year’s IFMA World Championships in St. Petersburg were an overwhelming success, and this clearly shows the quality that IFMA World Championship medalists bring to Thai Fight.

In the 70KG category, Vitaly Hurkou will fight against Thai superstar Buakaw while Andrei Kulebin, 67KG, will fight against Thai superstar Singmanee Kaewsamrit.

Vitaly made his way to the final after defeating Antero Hynynen from Finland by decision last Sunday. Buakaw also took the victory by decision against the Japanese fighter Nishikawa Tomoyuki.

Meanwhile, Andrei defeated Adaylton Pereira de Freitas by decision, while Singmanee won by decision against Mehdi Zatout.

Vitaly and Andrei’s successes demonstrate the quality of fighters coming from Belarus, as both fighters are Belarussian.  Andrei is also a former WMC Champion and the current IFMA Champion.

WMC and IFMA are proud of their champions; congratulations to all the National Federations for their hard work!  Thai Fight, the WMC and IFMA are working closely together in promoting Muaythai towards highest sporting recognition.

Good luck to all the fighters, it is sure to be a great final. We’ll be back to cover the final on the 16th of December 2012 so tune in for all the Muaythai action!
