Jimmy Vienot Succesfully Defends his Crown
Saturday February 8th at Empire fight in Montbeliard, France was a night French man Jimmy Vienot will not be forgetting in a hurry. Jimmy defended his WMC world title against Chanajon PK Saenchai Gym from Thailand. The pair met in 2015 and 2017 with the Thai fighter taking both wins so this was a massive victory, dubbed by Jimmy as the revenge match.
Jimmy a 2 time IFMA gold medalist took the WMC world title from Sorcraw Petchyindee in the prestigous Ratchadamnuen Stadium in Bangkok in August 2018. He tried to defend the title last year against Ilya Grad from Israel but the fight was declared a ‘no contest’ bout and stopped by the referee after a head butt caused a cut above the eye in round 1.
The fight against Chanajon was the fight of the evening with both athletes giving it 100 per cent from the opening round. After five rounds the fight went to the judges score cards declaring Jimmy the winner after a valiant effort by Chanajon.
