Mathieu Guevara Successfully Defends his Title for the Third Time

Saturday the 24th of October was a night to remember for WMC European champion Mathieu Guevara as he successfully defended his belt for the third time. The Frenchman flew to Italy to face challenger Cristian Marzullo finishing the bout in the third round by landing a beautifully timed elbow on his opponent.

Mathieu’s journey to become a 3 time super light-weight (63.5kg) European champion began when he faced Maciej Zenbik from Poland in 2017, becoming the champion after an epic fight. He then went onto Successfully defend the title against Alessio Martino from Italy in 2018.

With becoming the European champion for the third time Mathieu now has his sights set firmly on the Intercontinental title of which a winner will be contested on November the 7th when Prince Junior from Luxembourg meets Mohamed Galaoui from France. The winner of this bout could well be the next logical fight for Mathieu which makes sense.

From all at the WMC Headquarters we would like to congratulate Mathieu on another amazing win and for achieving a hat trick as European champion.
