Monika Chochlikova: New WMC World Champion
History was made in Slovakia this Saturday as Monika Chochlikova became the new WMC world lightweight champion. The Slovakian national defeated Funda Alkayis from Turkey by TKO after the doctor stopped the fight in round 5 due to a perfectly timed teep.
The pair featured as the main event at MTE 11 Araver Fight Night in the city of Trencin, Slovakia. Both ladies are IFMA gold medalists with Monika previously ranked at number 8 and Funda ranked at number 3.
The fight started off Thai style with a nice playful first round with round 2 been very close. As the rounds progressed through 3, 4 and 5 Monika really pushed the pace before winning by TKO in the fifth round.
