The fight will take place at the famous Rumble of the King’s event this Friday 25th November in Stockholm. Sweden.
Both girls are from Stockholm, living just a couple of stations away from each other on the Subway, in the central of the City heart, and both are known to be one of the best / or the best female fighters in the world.
BACK GROUND:
Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas (TIP/VBC) vs. (ODENPLAN FIGHT GYM) in Junior lightweight (130 lb./-59,0 Kg).
Isa Tidblad-Keskikangas
Isa Tidblad, a 24 year old Swedish girl from Stockholm, left soccer for Muaythai in 2008. She started as a 16 year old Student of Pernilla Johansson (former IFMA & WMC World champion as well as president of Swedish Muaythai Federation, Chairman of the IFMA Youth Commission and Chairman of the board for the Swedish IFMA Female Commission).
The Muaythai Project Pernilla started in is called Frysbox. Isa was one of the first students and quickly become a leader/trainer of the project. The project was developed by Pernilla Johansson for targeting young , unsecure girls, getting them into sports (in this case Muaythai). The purpose was to work with the young girls giving them better health (both mentally and physically), give them better self-confidence.
Isa started as a 16 year old and made her first fight in -75 kg.
In 2014, Isa was chosen by the Swedish national team and managed to win gold medal in the IFMA World Championship in Malaysia at -75 kg, as well as gold medal at -71 kg in the IFMA European Championship in Poland.
In 2015, Isa won the IFMA Swedish Championship at -67 kg and also won a Silver medal in the IFMA World Championship in Bangkok at -67 kg.
In 2016, Isa won the IFMA Swedish Championship in -63,5 kg and later the same year, she won gold in the IFMA European Championship at -60 kg which also qualifies her for the 2017 World Games.
For the fight against Patricia, she will drop to -59 kg. A great journey for a 16 year old girl weighing 75 kg just a few years back.
Patricia Axling,
Patricia, a 28 year old Swedish girl from Stockholm, left amateur boxing for Muaythai in 2014. As an amateur boxer she managed 17 fights and got 2 silver medals in the Swedish Championship.
She started with Muaythai in the same gym as Sofia Olofsson, IFMA World Champion 2016 and European Champion 2015, World Cup winner 2015 etc.
Patricia’s breakthrough was the year of 2016. A year which was like a rocket to the top.
In this year, she managed to win the Swedish Championship which gave her a spot in the Swedish national team.
Later this year, in May, she won gold at the IFMA World Championship in Jonkoping and last week, just like Isa, Patricia managed to win gold in the IFMA European Championship in Split.
As you see, this fight is not so regular in any way. A Cinderella story which even the national television of Sweden covered this week, 10 minutes after the fight was released and they will make a longer interview with both girls later this week.
A great thing for Muaythai in Sweden!
Everyone at the WMC wishes both fighters the best of luck!
