The Thai Embassy Cup Gathers African Countries in Cote D’Ivoire
African Muaythai is going from strong to stronger, and Cote D’Ivoire is one of the driving forces in west Africa.
The Cote D’Ivoire Muaythai Federation is fully recognised by its National Olympic Committee and was granted the rights to organise the 1st Ambassador Cup in cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and IFMA.
Since muaythai was fully recognised by IOC the Royal Thai Government and its diplomatic missions around the globe are working closely with the world governing body towards the promotion and the cultural preservation of muaythai.
President of the Cote D’Ivoire Muaythai Federation Arthur Bella stated that Cote D’Ivoire is a proud member of the IOC recognised family, and this event showcases close cooperation between IFMA, the national federation, the NOC, Sports Ministry of Cote D’Ivoire, and the motherland Thailand.
It’s also an important event for the upcoming African Championships held in Hurghada, Egypt from 11 to 14 November, which will be an official qualification event to grant points towards te TWG 2022 qualification rankings.
The Cote D’Ivoire team is also looking forward to the upcoming World Championships in Phuket.
