United Nation, UN Women Super 4
The Muaythai campaign to end violence against women is supported by 130 national federations to create awareness in this important campaign. Many countries have supported the initiative with their champions and a special UN trophy is donated by UN Women and is an important part of King’s Cup 2015.Last year’s winner, Chonmanee, the Thai superstar will defend her trophy against 3 of the best female fighters.
She has been matched up against European champion, Gia Winberg, from Finland and this will be a world class contest.
Australian champion, Sandra Brew, will compete against Truong Thi Hong Gna from Vietnam. This is a much anticipated match especially as the Oceania Olympic Committees have joined with the Olympic Committee of Asia to participate in future games organised by the Olympic Committee of Asia such as Indoor Asian and Martial Art Games. Dr. Sakchye Tapsuwan did the draw. Sue Latta, IFMA Vice President and Chair of the Women Commission stated that this is a great promotion for our campaign but also for female Muaythai and shows gender equality. 20 Years ago it would have been impossible to have these two Super 4 side by side but nowadays both Super 4 fights are equally as popular.
