WMC Female Power
The 5th December Foundation, The Association of correspondents for Anti-Corruption (Thailand), Bangkok Thonburi University and World King Productions in conjunction with the World Muaythai Council under royal patronage have joined forces to promote an event for gender equality.
The true arena in Hua Hin will be the appropriate venue for this amazing night to promote WMC and IFMA’s Campaign to combat violence against woman. The best of the best will square up for this amazing event and the show will feature 2 WMC World title fights.
The first will see Thisha Wor Por Sukhothai the WMC Fly Weight Champion and also crowned the Sports Authority of Thailand most prosperous female fighter in 2016 take on Lisa Brierley from the UK which will be a contest to remember.
The second title fight will see Petchtapi Bangkok Thonburi Uni (WMC Feather weight champion) defending her title against Elena Mischuk from Belarus as this event is also to promote the upcoming Muaythai world championships in Belarus.
Candice Mitchell (the winner of the King’s Cup 2016) and Yolanda Schmidt the WMC champion of Australia will also feature on the show.
Sue Glassey chair of the Muaythai Female commission stated this is a fantastic opportunity to promote the popularity of female muaythai and also our cooperation with UN women to promote ending violence against woman and advocating for gender equality.
The cooperation with UN Women, the WMC and IFMA goes back now for 3 years and Muaythai will continue to use the power of the sport and the popularity of the athletes to create awareness and sends a clear message. We stand UNited.
The event is free of charge and will be Live telecast on channel 3 (28) from 20.30pm – 22.30. From all at the WMC we wish all of the athletes the best of luck.
