WMC & IFMA Champions Dominate Thai Fight

The quarter-final of Thai Fight really showed how important the grassroots of Muaythai really are.  The WMC (World Muaythai Council) and IFMA (International Federation of Muaythai Amateur) since inauguration, over two decades ago, have worked together closely to ensure this.  In recent years the cooperation between the two organizations has really shown through.  Yesterday Thai Fight was a major success. Buakaw Por Pramuk is a three times WMC World Champion and, to the surprise of many, also the winner of the IFMA Cultural Festival.

In yesterday’s Thai Fight Buakaw Por Pramuk easily won this quarter-final fight.  Belarus, one of the leading IFMA countries showed their strengths with current IFMA and former WMC World Champion, Andrei Kulebin, winning easily against Crice Boussoukou of South Africa.  Vitaly Hurkou, also an IFMA Champion showed his world-class and dominance by making it to the next round of Thai Fight.  For Finland, Antero Hynynen, the IFMA European Champion and a silver medal winner at the Peace through Muaythai Event in Iran, also made his way to the next round.

WMC and IFMA are proud of their champions; congratulations to all the National Federations for their hard work!  Thai Fight, the WMC and IFMA are working closely together in promoting Muaythai towards highest sporting recognition.
