WMC World Meeting
President General Chetta Thanajarocalled for the 2013 meeting of the world executives of the WMC. The World Muaythai Council, which is the sole professional Muaythai organisation set up under parliament resolution and which is under the directive of the Royal Thai Government.
General Chetta Thanajaro came to delegate to over 100 countries in Bangkok and stated that the WMC has come a long way since its inauguration in 1995, held in the convention hall of the United Nations centre in Bangkok.
He thanked all of the various commissions who are working hard over the last months to be part of the restructure of the WMC. He also welcomed all of the IFMA delegates, congratulating them for their latest achievements: inclusion in IWGA and again outlined that the WMC is in full support of IFMA’s application process to the IOC. He said that the corporation is very important to foster the athletes, to ensure fair play and integrity and that IFMA has done outstanding work. He also thanked the female commissions, as fully female muaythai has become as popular or even more popular than their male counterparts. The WMC is happy with the upcoming show, Muaythai Angels, with 16 girls out of 14 countries competing for pride and honour. There are over 200 events planned for 2014.
