World Muaythai Angels: Round 2 Illustrates True Female Power
Round 2 again had a full-capacity crowd and a world-class production mixed with entertaining fights proving again to be a hit, further promoting female Muaythai.
The first matchup in Pool A brought the two world champions together: Duennapa Mor Rattanapundit from Thailand Joanna Jedrzejczyk from Poland: both women from the start to the end stood toe-to-toe using all weapons of Muaythai and in the end with the help of the sold out crowd, it was Thailand that won with a very close decision.
The quarter final fight, Sindy Huyer from Italy versus Laurene Tue from France. It was Italy that ended on top in the all-European clash, booking her spot in the semi-final.
Pool B: Chommanee Sor. Teh Hiran from Thailand was drawn against Iman Ghbalou Chairi from Morocco in another fantastic matchup. The Thai champion really fought her best, taking a point decision and booking Thailand’s second place in the semi-final.
In the second quarter-final, Teresa Wintermyr from Sweden and I Linca Lucia Serbu from Romania, fought in another all-Eurpoean matchup. Teresa Wintermyr from Sweden once again showed her superior skills in the grappling departmentwhile ILinca Lucia Serbu from Romania tried to take the fight from the mid-rage to the long-range but in the end Sweden’s hand was raised. That will leave the final super 4 which will be held originally (and coincidentally) on Boxing Day with Duennapa Mor Rattanapundit from Thailand and Sindy Huyer from Italy.
The world is moving forward and the final will be held in Superfour format: semi-final and final held during the same event, so fighters must enter two bouts to win. It really was a fantastic effort from all the fighters.
