Infliction Fight Series 33
The Gold Coast Sport and Leisure Centre which is capable of seating 5,000 fans was the centre for another fantastic Infliction and Australian muaythai event.
In line with the IFMA and WMC gender equality two out of the main three fights were female with Molly O’Connell squaring off against Karolyn Kleinhaar and what a fight it was with incredible muaythai skills. In the end, it was Molly taking the split decision win with the rematch already in discussion.
Another huge fight of the evening saw Issac Papalii face Bodhi Kucukovic with Issac once again showing why he is in line for the Australian title by taking a decision.
The main fight was the old sibling rivalry between the Aussies and the Kiwis and it was New Zealand’s champion Kaitlyn Tucker vs Australian champion Leonie Macks. Muaythai is one of the biggest forces in Australian sport alongside Rugby League, Cricket, and Rugby Union and it was again an incredible promotion for muaythai and especially female muaythai with New Zealand’s Kaitlyn taking the win. In true Aussie spirit both athletes got a standing ovation as sport always wins, a fantastic promotion.
Congratulations to Infliction, Nick Atkins and, Muaythai Australia as Australia once again proved you do not have to give super big belts every time and you compete your way up the ladder.
The WMC and IFMA superstars Chadd Collins and Jayden Eynaud were there to showcase their belts and inspire the up-and-coming athletes to continue on their journey.
