King’s Cup 2014
December 5th is a very special national holiday in Thailand, as the nation celebrates His Majesty King Bhumipol’s birthday. It is also celebrated as Father’s Day for the Thai people, as the beloved paternalistic Monarch is considered the Father of the nation.
2014 was a historical year for the World Muaythai Council as the organisation was granted Royal Patronage. In honour of HM’s 87th Birthday and the recent Royal Patronage, a special King’s Cup Gala event will be organised at a venue just outside the gates of the beautiful Grand Palace with an expected attendance of over a million spectators.

18.30 | VIPs and honoured guests arrive and Undercard commences |
19:00 | President of WMC, General Chetta Thanajaro, will greet all visiting guests from the representatives of the International Embassies and Consulates, representatives of UN Women, International and National VIP Guests and press |
19.29 | All guests from the International Embassies and Consulates, representatives of UN Women and National & International press join the Candle Ceremony in Honour of HM the King’s 87 Birthday |
20.00 | Undercard fights for the 2014 Kings Cup begin |
21.00 | Live broadcast of the December 5th Muaythai Kings Cup Event begins
