Valentina Shevchenko: Muaythai Legend
Nowadays the name Valentina Shevchenko is a household name in the combat sports world after her explosion in the UFC. What many of her MMA fans might not know is that Valentina has long been a heroine in the muaythai world as both a WMC world champion and multiple time IFMA gold medalist.
Training under the tutelage of coach Pavel Fedotov, Valentina has earned 8 Gold medals at the IFMA world championships and beaten some of the top athletes such as Nili Block, Mariya Valent and even Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Her Fight in 2012 against Lelo Page from France won her the WMC Super Lightweight Title in France.
Muaythai is definitely in the blood as her mother Elena is also the President of the Kyrgyzstan Muaythai Federation. Her sister Antonina also competed in IFMA many times and became a WMC world champion in 2017 beating Swedish athlete Isa Tidblad in Beirut, Lebanon.
The WMC is proud of Valentina for achieving such amazing success. She truly is one of the best female fighters to have ever lived and a role model to many.
