Malaysia’s Muaythai Association in conjunction with The Sports Ministry brings top rated reality series The Challenger Muaythai’s worldwide Championship finale to Kuala Lumpur’s Stadium Negara, 19th November, 7.00PM!

Malaysia, 9th November 2011 – The Challenger Muaythai debuted to an enraptured AXN audience in Malaysia in September, breaking through the competition to hit the No. 1 spot* across all English cable channels among Pay TV 4+ audience in its timeslot. In fact, Malaysians have proven to be avid fans of the show, with AXN leading at 31% ahead of the nearest competitor during its timeslot on Thursdays at 10pm. Surrounded by the non-stop, high-intensity excitement of blood, guts and glory in high definition The Challenger Muaythai, 16 world-class fighters converge upon Asia to vie for the prestigious title of Muaythai World Champion, and the grand prize of US$100,000! It’s no wonder that Malaysia has been glued to their screen every week to watch these fighters on their crusade to be the best, and make it through to the final showdown, The Challenger Live grand Finale.

Hosted right here in Kuala Lumpur’s Stadium Negara, this is Malaysia’s last chance to get into the heart of this epic battle, and feel the energy and action of the Muaythai elite in person! Returning to preside over the event is renowned Muaythai personality and Vice President of the World Muaythai Council, Stephan Fox along with his team of WMC approved referees and judges, ensuring the quality and authenticity of our Challenger Muaythai champion. Malaysia will also meet the gorgeous Sonia Couling (ex-MTV VJ, actress and host) in the flesh at this star studded event as she hosts the fight to beat all fights!

The line up for this event is a nail biting entertainment marathon, including 2 local match ups with Malaysia’s Hamdan versus Ediey Serenading Kuning, and Tengku Shahrizal versus Wes jaya to get the crowd warmed up. This local delight will be followed by 3 returning Challenger grudge matches, including the return of Malaysia’s own star fighter, The ‘Golden Elbow’ Mohd Faizal bin Ramli to represent his country and take another shot at putting Malaysian Muaythai on the world map! With Malaysia’s finest lining up to compete in this event, the support of the crowd for these home grown heroes could mean a big win for Malaysia!

After the thrill of seeing the returning Challengers get one more chance to take down their competition and challenge their old opponents from the show, comes the moment Malaysia has been waiting for, the Grand Finale fight.
